In this workshop, we will investigate the chance events that occur when altering forms and surfaces freshly thrown off the wheel. Daily class exercises will allow us to playfully explore Zoomorphic shapes and their humble abodes in functional and sculptural solutions. Using such techniques as folding, bottomless cylinders and pushing the clay, we will concentrate on the relationship between line and volume. There will be discussions on drawing and painting with colored strips and signs in order to enhance the surface, as well as historical and contemporary examples of pots that will be referenced in. Intermediate to advanced.
