This safety training information is required by law in South Carolina for dental assistants operating an x-ray machine. IT FULLY MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF SOUTH CAROLINA Law 39-12(8) that states dental assistants may "expose radiographs upon completion of a Board approved radiation safety course. . .through this Radiation Safety Course that meets the South Carolina Board of Dentistry’s requirement under Section 39-5.F.(4) that states: 'Programs that meet the general requirement of Section 2. may be developed and/or endorsed by organizations and agencies such as: (a) the American Dental Association.'”

This six-hour course is supplied to you on a CD-ROM to take at your leisure at work or in the comfort of your own home after working hours. IT IS INTENDED FOR USE BY ONE REGISTRANT. The course includes:

A three and a half hour slideshow with narration...
A film summary of the effects of radiation...
Five (5) Reading assignments in PDF format...
A 50 minute film on improving techniques with difficult intraoral dental radiographs...
A certificate of course completion...

IMPORTANT: At the conclusion of this course, you must successfully pass a 50 question assessment. After you submit this test back to us, we will send you the Certificate recognized by South Carolina thyat allows you to legally operate x-ray machines in South Carolina.
