The Pro Musicis Ensemble is a Pennsylvania non-profit, 501(c)(3) chamber orchestra, founded and led by violinist Odin Rathnam dedicated primarily for the purpose of recording and touring with and without various conductors. Its mission is to record a broad spectrum of repertoire from well known masterpieces to lesser known and more contemporary works. Central to the mission, is striving for an environment of uncompromising attention to detail and a collaborative approach between the musicians and guest conductors that lends transparency and illumination of the composer's score. The orchestra will have no set schedule, but rather will present programs and record on a project to project basis. Members of regional orchestras and leading chamber music ensemble players from across the nation form the core of the Ensemble's roster. Working closely with inner-city schools, the Ensemble's mission also includes collaboration with the Else Borges Foundation on achieving meaningful educational programs for under-privileged children, that go beyond the traditional outreach concert.
