Facilitating Project Management Success Content: Facilitating Project Management Success is an interactive workshop to give participants: - The basics of project management (what, why and how) - Hands on experience with tools to improve how teams can work together to achieve project management goals - Tools to control problems and avoid common project management pitfalls Participants will have the opportunity to bring their own project to the workshop as a case study. Learning objectives: Participants will come away with the ability to: - List specific steps in effective project management - how to implement them to get projects done on time and within budget - Demonstrate specific techniques in developing plans that get buy-in: "owning the project" - Review tools to avoid common project management problems - Experience the value of leveraging team dynamics Course Prerequisites: None Number of Course Hours: 8 hours 8am to 12pm, 1pm to 5pm Instructor Bio: Marieann Shovlin is the founder of Peak Process, a company dedicated to optimizing organizational performance through collaboratively developing processes, implementing quality systems, and achieving continuous improvement goals. With over 25 years experience in high tech, primarily in senior management roles, she has worked in the biomedical device, telecommunications, and software industries. As a consultant, she has worked with organizations to design and document systems and processes to meet organizational goals. Her methodologies include a combination of proprietary tools and participative methods, all based on Systems and TQM theoretical foundations. She has developed and delivered training programs in quality management systems: ISO 9001:2000, ISO 13485:2003 and Quality System Implementation, customer satisfaction, biotechnology job search methods, and continuous process improvement for industry and non-profits. She is a Senior member in the ASQ (American Society for Quality, Silicon Valley Section), most recently serving as Vice Chair.
