Boat-based, naturalist-led, 8-hour whale watching trip leaving San Francisco Yacht Harbor (Marina District) at 8 a.m., (please arrive 30 minutes prior to 8 a.m. departure) arriving back at 4 p.m. NOTE: Alternate Sausalito boarding location, Clipper Yacht Harbor, Sausalito. See confirmation email for details.

We proceed to the Farallon Islands (and on calm days to the continental shelf) looking for humpback and blue whales. We also often see harbor porpoise, Dalls porpoise, Risso's Dolphins, Pacific white-sided dolphins, northern right whale dolphins, and more. At the Farallones, we see a large variety of seabirds, often including tufted puffins, common murres, shearwaters, cormorants, scoters, and occasional sightings of Laysan or black-footed albatross. We travel to and stop at the southwest Farallon Island, where you can observe the wildlife up close and eat your lunch. Our 50 foot motorized vessel is Coast Guard certified, fully insured, with open observation decks and limited inside cabin seating. Our captains are experienced in natural history cruises. Passenger capacity is 49 per trip. Free off-street parking at the harbor. Bring your own lunch and beverages. Youths under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 10 not permitted on the boat. Be sure to dress warmly with waterproof outer-wear (expect to get wet as we travel) and take appropriate sea-sickness medicine if needed. Bring binoculars and camera gear if desired. Oceanic Society Expeditions Purchase/Refund Policy
