Your naturalist will issue boarding passes outside San Francisco Yacht Harbor/Marina Green Park Harbormaster’s office (corner of Marina Green Drive and Scott Street). Vessel departs from gate, west end of Marina Green. Trip Status: Trips may be cancelled by the OSE due to under-subscription, hazardous weather, or other acts of God. It is imperative to call (415) 441-1347 the morning of departure to determine the status of your trip. Cancellations based on sea conditions, not land conditions. Recording will be on by 6 a.m.; trip status will not be available earlier. Captain will make decision on morning of departure. Do not contact Harbor Master for trip status. About Seasickness: Seasickness precautions recommended before boarding. Consult your pharmacist or doctor. Adhere strictly to manufacturer’s directions (especially if medication must be taken hours prior to boarding). Be well rested the morning of your trip and avoid alcoholic beverages the previous night. On the day of your trip, eat a high-carbohydrate, non-fatty breakfast. Bringing crackers and soda can help with queasiness. Remember, prevention is the only cure. Clothing: It can be cold and windy, even when sunny, when vessel is underway. Bring rain gear (for rain and sea spray), gloves, hat, sweater, heavy socks, and warm non-skid shoes or rain boots. TRIPS GO RAIN OR SHINE; BE PREPARED! Equipment: Binoculars, sunglasses and sunscreen strongly recommended. You may also wish to bring a camera with telephoto lens. Food: Our vessel does NOT have food available. BRING YOUR OWN FOOD AND BEVERAGES. The boat cannot accommodate coolers or picnic baskets. A day-pack is suggested. Conditions & Terms: PLEASE READ CAREFULLY No refunds can be issued unless a trip is cancelled by OSE. Rescheduling less than two (2) weeks prior to departure is not permitted. Rescheduling must be to like days only (i.e., weekdays to weekdays or weekends to weekends) within the current season. If OSE cancels a trip, call us at (415) 474-3385 during regular business hours to reschedule or request a refund within the current season. All refunds must be requested within 30 days of your original departure. Due to the special nature of whale watching trips and the potential of cancellations due to weather, the following policy applies: no administrative charge for rescheduling; refunds will be assessed a processing fee of $2 per ticket. In no event shall our liability exceed the obligation to refund the amount you paid us. There are no automatic refunds. In the event of an expedition being cancelled after departing the dock, OSE has the following policy: if the vessel returns to the Marina within the first 4 hours, a $60 per-person fuel charge will be assessed on all refunds or reschedules; if the vessel is out over 4 hours, the trip will be considered complete; no refunds or rescheduling will occur. There is a $10 service charge on all returned checks. NO-SHOWS AND LATECOMERS WHO MISS THE BOAT FORFEIT THE ENTIRE FEE Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 10 will not be permitted on the boat. All boats have life vests, are Coast Guard certified and insured. Limited indoor and outdoor seating. In the unlikely event of an expedition being cancelled after departing the dock (turnaround trip), Oceanic Society Expeditions has the following policy: 1) Return to the dock within the first 4 hours: $45 per person fuel charge will be assessed on all refunds or reschedules; 2) Return to the dock over 4 hours, trip will be considered completed; no refunds or rescheduling will be permitted.
