Dr. Comprone served as a faculty member and administrator for over 40 years, at six different universities, prior to taking the position of Associate Vice Provost and Campus Director at the University of Connecticut (UConn) Avery Point. Over the course of his career, Dr. Comprone’s work has been equally divided among the areas of research, teaching, and community outreach. He has served as department head, dean of arts and sciences, and director of technical and expository writing programs. He has also shaped and guided the doctoral programs in rhetoric and technical writing to state approval at two universities. At Arizona State University and the University of Connecticut, Dr. Comprone shaped the critical expertise needed for developing interdisciplinary programs, including programs that integrate science and social science/humanities disciplines. Dr. Comprone regularly teaches courses in British Literature Survey and Modern British Literature at the UConn Avery Point campus.
