Your instructor, Bob Clark , has thirty years of technical, management and consulting experience in manufacturing, aerospace, and service environments ranging from startup to Fortune 500 companies.  He is currently the director of Leadership Development and Culture for Navigation and Communication System Programs in the Space and Intelligence Systems busienss unit of Boeing.

Description: With the right knowledge, skills and approach, you can talk to anybody about anything – even when the stakes are high, and there are opposing opinions and strong emotions.  This workshop will help give you that knowledge, build those skills and provide an approach that has been successful for many people in numerous situations. Based on the book Crucial Conversations, you will learn the steps to effective dialogue and have a chance to practice them in a safe environment.

• Have you ever put off or avoided certain discussions longer than you should have – perhaps to avoid a potential argument?
• Would your work life improve if you could just figure out how to talk about certain hot topics without taking too much risk?
• Do you sometimes bring up problems in a way that makes other people defensive?
• Have there been times when you’ve blamed others for a problem only to learn that you were partially to blame?
• In order to get people to want to do certain things, do you sometimes rely on guilt or threats?
• When people miss a commitment, do you let them off the hook?
