1 Day Rally Experience

So you have watched the World Rally Championship on Speed TV, read about it in Sport Compact Car or Rally World Magazine or you have eaten the dust and heard the roar of rally cars on the stage at either the New England Forest Rally or Rally New York.... Now is your chance to experience first hand the thrill of driving a rally car at what Petter Solberg calls 'maximum attack' in the Team O'Neil 1 Day Rally Experience
These one day classes held at the Team O'Neil Rally School and Car Control Center will introduce you to the fine art of driving a rally car. You will learn how to use Left Foot Braking techniques to slide through turns. Finally at the end of the class, you will get a chance to ride 'at maximum attack' speed with a highly trained Team O'Neil driving instructor at the wheel. All of the instruction and practice will be in the school FWD Ford Fiestas.
The cost per student includes a short classroom session on vehicle dynamics, safety, balance and car control. The majority of the day will be spent on the course either on the skid pad or the slalom course practicing the techniques of car control rally driving on gravel conditions. This class will end at 3:30 p.m. Team O'Neil provides everything you need. Just bring a lunch! |

1 Day Winter Safe School

OVERVIEW: The Winter Safety School is a 1 day class designed to test your limits as well as your vehicles limits in a safe environment. We've designed the Team O'Neil Driving Park to be not only a safe and effective learning environment, but one where drivers have fun while they learn.
Our unique combination of unmatched expertise combined with our proven curriculum will help you to keep your traction and cool on snowy or icy roads. The Winter Safety School is taught in groups of 12-15, and students use their own vehicle (the one you are most likely to drive in winter conditions). It should be noted that while you are at our driving course, the chance of any damage is minimal since you are in a wide open training area. We recommend you have snow tires on your vehicle and a full tank of gas for this class. Just bring a lunch! Classes will only be rescheduled or cancelled if there is a major snow or ice storm predicted. A little snowfall makes the class even more realistic!
WHERE / WHEN? The school is taught at our driving facility in Dalton, New Hampshire, during the winter months on Saturdays from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. Check our schedule for dates. WHO IS THIS FOR? At Team O'Neil we feel strongly that age does not matter. Whether you are retired, a teenage driver, or in college, you will benefit and gain confidence when confronted with less than perfect driving conditions. Anyone who's on the road without skid-control training and general accident avoidance training will benefit from this course!
When you complete your Winter Safe Driving School at the Team O'Neil Rally School and Car Control Center, you'll enter a whole new world of driving comfort and confidence. Two Day Rally School

Day 1 is designed to improve your existing skills and give you a chance to develop and practice correct responses in a safe environment, including the introduction of left foot braking. Day 2 will focus more on advanced techniques for superior control and maximum handling.
2 DAY SCHOOL DETAILS: You'll get individual attention and plenty of seat time to practice, practice, practice - and progress - on our Skid Pad, Safety Braking Zone and Obstacle Avoidance Area Slalom Course. Our normal progression is to begin training in specially modified front wheel drive Ford Fiestas so that the student can get a feel for a particular skill or technique being taught such as the art of left foot braking and the reasons for using it, how to use the throttle and brake to steer the vehicle, introduction to anticipation, compensation and timing, critical and life saving driving skills.
You'll also learn vehicle weight transfer, the 5 types of skids, introduction to pendulum turns, eye placement, linking turns, gear choice and timing, vehicle dynamics, accident avoidance, handling characteristics of front, all & rear wheel drive cars, ABS, non-ABS & threshold braking, spin-out and crash recovery. |

Three Day Rally School
|

Our 3 day school offers a more intense results oriented presentation of the skills taught in our 2 day school.
Covering 3 days and 50% more road time, it gives the driver an immediate and greater opportunity to practice those skills, master his/her application, and take full advantage of the benefits. As a 3 day school participant, you'll be introduced to advanced driving techniques while experiencing more practice time on increasingly narrow roads at faster speeds. During the afternoon of day 2 you will move from the FWD Ford Fiestas into the AWD Subarus (non-turbo) which you will use during day 3.
In addition to all the skills presented in the 2 day school, participants will work on perfecting Left Foot Braking, when and where to use Pendulum Turns, setting up for turns in junctions, exposure to different types of braking, and spin out recovery. |

Four Day Rally School
|

The price for the 4 day rally school is $4,772. The final payment is due 14 business days before the start of the class.
The fourth day of school teaches students how to apply the new techniques learned in the first 3 days of training to his/her specific driving needs. The 4th day of school includes instinctive left foot braking, tighter, more challenging pendulum turns, finer adjustments in anticipation, compensation and timing, while getting more driving time on even more of our challenging roads. You will be using both AWD and RWD vehicles.
Finally you will put it all together by applying newly-polished rally racing techniques to miles of driving at increasingly higher speeds on day 4. It is here on our own rally racing course where you'll experience a series of tricky junctions and blind corners that have challenged even the best rally racing drivers from around the world. To celebrate the completion of the course, you'll take the passenger seat for a flat-out ride with one of our world class instructors. |

The 5th day of school applies all of the techniques learned during the first 4 days of training to his/her specific driving needs. On the afternoon of day 5, you will participate in a staged rallycross event to prepare you for rally events. You'll cover car prep, navigation and notes, timed start and finishes. This day will really prepare for those wanting to get started in rallying! |
