About the Class:
The Certified Professional of Occupancy (CPO) course is a comprehensive program offered by the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) for property management staff in affordable developments, including LIHTC. It is the only occupancy course covering the new 4350.3 Revision 1 Change 2 Occupancy Handbook in its entirety, with specific handbook references cited in the margins of the course text.
Each participant will receive a copy of the new 4350.3 Rev. 1 Chg. 2 Handbook at this course. The three-day program is composed of two and a half days of instruction and a half-day exam. Participants who successfully pass the exam will receive a CPO certificate and lapel pin. All CPOs are listed in an annual, national certification directory. The CPO is a requirement for NAHMA's National Affordable Housing Professional (NAHP) certification program.
Registration and book distribution starts at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. The class starts at 8:15 a.m.. Class ends at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. An optional review is offered Tuesday and Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.. The exam will take place on Thursday following lunch. Students may leave when they complete their exam.
About the Instructor:
Travis Hanna FHC, CPO, ARM, NCP-e, is Corporate Compliance Manager and Sec. 504 Coordinator with ABHOW and an experienced occupancy and fair housing specialist in the affordable multifamily housing industry. A highly respected instructor, he teaches classes dealing with the HUD Manual, Tax Credits, and Fair Housing for AHMA-NCNH to rave reviews in California and Hawaii. Working day-to-day with these issues, his training incorporates his experience and sense of humor to bring his special insight to these issues.

1. The supplemental meal charge is a mandatory fee and provides 3 continental breakfasts, 3 lunches, and afternoon snacks.
