Congratulations on your decision to RENEW your membership with the Washington State Paralegal Association - - The Authority on the Paralegal Profession in Washington State! We are pleased and excited that you have decided to remain a proud member of the premier organization that has been dedicated to Washington's Paralegals for over 30 years!  This Online Renewal Application should be used only to RENEW an existing WSPA membership.

If you are a prospective New WSPA member, please apply via the New Member Online Application page at  http://acteva.com/booking.cfm?bevaID=190983.  

Renewing WSPA Members seeking Voting Status (our highest classification to be eligible to hold a statewide office or vote for officers and directors) should submit a CLE Declaration Form evidencing they have 10 CLE Credits for that year to sumbit.  The CLE Declaration Form can be found at http://wspaonline.org/phocadownload/declaration%20of%20cle%20_rev%2010-08_.pdf

Voting Member 2010 (Renewal)
Any paralegal (see definition below) living or working in Washington with an associate or bachelors degree and 24 semester hours in paralegal studies, OR having a minimum of three years experience as a paralegal as defined by NFPA. 10 CLE credit hours per calendar year are required to maintain voting status when renewing membership after one full year as a voting member. Up to 15 unused credits may be carried over to satisfy the next year’s requirement. This membership shall run through December 31, 2010.   Order

Nonprofit or Gov't Member 2010 (Renewal)
Any individual working for a federally recognized non-profit [501(c)(3)] organization or a government agency (including the armed forces.)   This membership runs through December 2010.   Order

Student Member 2010 (Renewal)
A person who does not qualify for voting membership but is a full time student in a paralegal studies program can apply for student membership, which is eligible for all benefits of the association except that he or she may not vote or hold office.  This membership runs through December 2010.   Order

Associate Member 2010 (Renewal)
Associate membership -- A person living or working in Washington, who does not qualify for voting, govt, nonprofit, or student membership.  This membership runs through December 2010.   Order

Sustaining Member 2010 (Renewal)
A non-paralegal (an individual, a business, or an association) interested in supporting the Washington State Paralegal Association and the paralegal profession.  This membership runs through December 2010.   Order

 AFFIRMATION OF VOTING STATUS
Voting Members may elect WSPA Directors and Officers and hold office themselves. WSPA encourages all members to achieve Voting Member status, which includes a requirement of obtaining 10 hours of CLE credits each year. I hereby certify that I qualify for Voting membership in WSPA by reason of education and/or experience, as described below. If I have previously been a Voting Member for a year or more, I further certify that I have met the CLE requirements for continued Voting membership, and I will send in the necessary CLE Declaration (via Mail or Fax). Paralegal (NFPA Definition): A paralegal is a person qualified through education, training, or work experience to perform substantive legal work that requires knowledge of legal concepts and is customarily, but not exclusively, performed by a lawyer. This person may be retained or employed by a lawyer, law office, governmental agency, or other entity or may be authorized by administrative, statutory, or court authority to perform this work.

Washington State Paralegal Association Purchase/refund policy: WSPA Memberships are not refundable in whole nor in part once purchased. Event cancellations received 72 hours prior to an event will be refunded in full, minus any credit card and Acteva fees. Sorry, event cancellations will not be accepted less than 72 hours prior to an event, however event registrations are transferable to another attendee for the same event.
