Oceanic Society welcomes you aboard for an exciting encounter with one of the largest animals on earth - the California gray whale. Your trip departs promptly at 9:30 from the Marina Yacht Harbor (Scott and Marina Blvd.) on the Wacky Jacky, our 50 ft. U.S. Coast Certified vessel. Please arrive 15 minutes early and meet our naturalist outside the San Francisco Yacht Harbor/Marina Green Harbormaster's Office for your boarding pass and a short indoctrination prior to boarding. It is imperative that you call 415 441-1347 the morning of departure to determine trip status, as sea conditions may cancel the trip. The recording will be on at 7:30 a.m.; trip status will not be available earlier. Our vessel with depart under the Golden Gate Bridge and proceed up the coast toward Point Reyes. Gray whales are coastal animals so everyone can start looking for their tall blow or tail flukes once we pass Point Bonita Lighthouse. On this trip, we are all whale-spotters.
