Oceanic Society welcomes you aboard for an exciting encounter with one of the largest animals on earth - the California gray whale. Your trip departs promptly at 9:30 from the Marina Yacht Harbor (Scott and Marina Blvd.) on the Wacky Jacky, our 50 ft. U.S. Coast Certified vessel. Please arrive 15 minutes early and meet our naturalist outside the San Francisco Yacht Harbor/Marina Green Harbormaster's Office for your boarding pass and a short indoctrination prior to boarding. It is imperative that you call 415 441-1347 the morning of departure to determine trip status, as  sea conditions may cancel the trip. The recording will be on at 7:30 a.m.; trip status will not be available earlier. Our vessel with depart under the Golden Gate Bridge and proceed up the coast toward Point Reyes. Gray whales are coastal animals so everyone can start looking for their tall blow or tail flukes once we pass Point Bonita Lighthouse. On this trip, we are all whale-spotters.

Conditions & Terms: Please Read Carefully, No refunds can be issued unless a trip is cancelled by Oceanic SOciety Expeditions. Rescheduling less than two (2) weeks prior to departure is not permitted. Rescheduling must be to like days only (i.e., weekdays to weekdays or weekends to weekends) within the current season. If Oceanic Society cancels a trip, call us at 415 474-3385 during regular business hours to reschedule or request a refund within the current season. All refunds must be requested within 30 days of your original departure. Due to the special nature of whale watching trips, and the potential of cancellation due to weather, the following policy applies: no administrative charge for rescheduling;  refunds will be assessed a processing fee of $2 per ticket. In no event shall our liability exceed the obligation to refund the amount you paid to us. There are no automatic refunds. In the event of an expedition being cancelled after departing the dock, Oceanic Society Expeditions has the following policy: If the vessel returns to the marina within 4 hours, a $55 per person fuel charge will be assessed on all refunds or cancellations; if the vessel is out over 4 hours, the trip will be considered complete and no refunds or rescheduling will occur. There is a $10 service charge for all returned checks.
NO-SHOWS AND LATECOMERS WHO MISS THE BOAT FORFEIT THE ENTIRE FEE
   Unpredictable sea conditions and the length of the expedition require age restrictions. Children under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult; children under 10 will not be permitted on the boat. All boats have life vests for all passengers and are Coast Guard certified. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating.
Directions: From the Golden Gate Bridge, proceed down Doyle Drive and stay in left lane, which takes you to Marina Blvd. Left on Scott Street and park along Marina Green Drive. From Bay Bridge, take Harrison Street turnoff, proceed north to Embarcadero Blvd. Left on Embarcadero. Proceed to Bay Street and turn left. Half-right turn at Cervantes Street and proceed past Marina Blvd. into Marina Green Drive. From South Bay, proceed up 280, up 19th Avenue, through Golden Gate Park and up Park Presidio Blvd. Take right turnoff after tunnel onto Doyle Drive, stay in left land onto Marina Blvd. Turn Left at Scott Street and park.

Oceanic Society Expeditions Purchase/refund policy: TERMS & CONDITIONS -- IMPORTANT!! CANCELLATION: All trip sales are final. If you cancel, no refund will be given. If you or a member of your group cannot participate due to illness or other emergency, you may give or sell your space/s to another party. We cannot issue refunds and there are no exceptions to this policy. Online registration processing fees are non-refundable. Trips may be cancelled by Oceanic Society Expeditions due to undersubscription, hazardous weather conditions, or acts of Nature. If the Oceanic Society cancels a trip, YOU MUST REQUEST A REFUND by calling (415) 474-3385, Mon.-Fri., 9 am-5pm PST. Gift certificates are non-refundable but may be transferred. In no event, however, shall our liability exceed the obligation to refund the amount you paid to us. THERE ARE NO AUTOMATIC REFUNDS. No refunds will be issued unless Oceanic Society cancels a trip. Please allow 4-6 weeks for refund; online registration service/processing fees are non-refundable. Rescheduling less than 2 weeks before trip date is not permitted. Naturally, whale sightings cannot be guaranteed. We reserve the right to increase trip fees if there are exceptional cost increases for fuel. BOATS LEAVE PROMPTLY; NO-SHOWS AND LATECOMERS WHO MISS THE BOAT FORFEIT THE ENTIRE FEE. In the unlikely event of an expedition being cancelled after departing the dock (turnaround trip), Oceanic Society Expeditions has the following policy: 1) Return to the dock within the first 4 hours: $45 per person fuel charge will be assessed on all refunds or reschedules; 2) Return to the dock over 4 hours, trip will be considered completed; no refunds or rescheduling will be permitted.
