This conference is for cancer survivors of all disease sites, family, friends, and medical professionals. It will be held Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Mission Bay Conference Center of UCSF, San Francisco from 8 am to 3:30 pm. The conference format includes a general session and 10 breakout sessions. This program will provide information about issues that affect cancer patients who have completed treatment. The morning general session will include: * Medical issues & transitioning to a primary care physician * Psychosocial issues (living with uncertainty, dating, depression, intimacy, communications) * Lifestyle (nutrition and physical activity) * Survivor stories Afternoon breakout sessions will address: * Palliative care * Stress management * Family and caregiving matters * Financial issues (e.g., employment, life and health insurance, estate planning). * Treatment side effects * Sexual function, (fertility, intimacy, communications) * Drugs-herbs-food interactions Speakers have been recruited from El Camino Hospital, The Wellness Community, The Alexander Foundation for Women's Health, Stanford and UCSF. Two cancer survivors will also participate in the conference faculty. NOTE: Online pre-registration for this event will end on 11/10/09 at the close of business to ensure enough time for the processing of continuing education registration fees and confirmation notices. We will accept walk-ins the day of the event if space allows.
