Foster PRIDE/Adopt PRIDE is a competency based 14-step program for the recruitment, preparation, assessment, selection and ongoing support of foster parents and adoptive parents. This special training opportunity will focus on the content and process of implementing the nine-session, 27 hours preservice training program as well as the process for guiding prospective foster and adoptive families through the mutual assessment and selection process.
Training Dates:
Week 1: February 8 - 10, 2010
Week 2: February 22 - 24, 2010
Training Requirements: Purchase materials below through the Child Welfare League of America
- Participants must purchase PRIDE Trainer's Guide and PRIDE Book totaling ($368)
- Agencies using the PRIDE model for training, assessing and supporting foster parents and adoptive parents must purchase videos totaling ($324.95)
Details on ordering materials will be included in your training preparation letter.
Please order these materials no later than January 8, 2010. Having these materials in hand is essential to successful participation.
Tuition includes, USF parking permits and morning refreshments.
