The MAPP Leader Certification Training will focus on the group preparation and selection of out-of-home parents. This model program involves specific tools that agencies can use to prepare and mutually select foster and adoptive families. These tools help leaders and parents mutually assess the parents’ abilities and readiness for fostering or adopting.

This training program is a non-consecutive two week program with training weeks separated by a one week period:

Week 1:   April 12-16, 2010
Week 2:   April 26-30, 2010

Registration Fee:  $550 per person

Requirements:  As per the Department of Children Families' interpretation of Florida Administrative Code 65C-13: "Before leading MAPP training with foster and adoptive parents you must be certified as a child welfare professional. If you are currently a certified MAPP leader but have not been certified as a child welfare professional, you have until April 6, 2009 to be certified. Leading MAPP parent training is to be suspended until both certifications are obtained."

This registration fee includes Morning refreshments, MAPP Leader and Participant Guides, PowerPoint slides, MAPP Videos and all hand-out materials for delivering the MAPP Training with foster and adoptive parents.  Participants will also receive a MAPP Leader Certificate of Achievement upon successfully accomplishing all MAPP Leader Certification requirements during the course.
