Leslie Hoffart, MoDOT Project Manager will discuss the challenges and successes faced by the Missouri Department of Transportation as they undertook their first Design-Build project - the $535 million I-64 reconstruction through the heart of St. Louis, MO.  The success of the I-64 projcts includes the rebuilding and upgrading of all pavement, bridges and interchanges between Spoede Road in St. Louis County and Kingshighway Boulevard in St. Louis City; addition of one lane in each direction between Spoede Roand and I-170; increased traffic flow through better design, with elimination of short, tight entrance/exit ramps adn merges; addition of dedicated exit lanes; enhanced safety with wider shoulders, etc.
