A DEC and U.S. Foreign Commercial Service Event – Part of the Export Compliance Series
This event will be a combination of an introduction to U.S. anti-bribery rules and regulations and an advanced export compliance discussion focusing on voluntary self-disclosures, practical application tips for complying with export regulations in a business-friendly way. Earlier this year, the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service hosted an introductory export compliance event in Harford County, MD. That event focused on the differences between the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The ITAR is administered by the U.S. Department of State, and the EAR is administered by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The October 2 event will not repeat the basics but will help those with a general understanding of the ITAR and EAR understand practical examples and will encourage audience participation. The anti-bribery portion will focus on the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and provide a basic discussion with no assumed prior knowledge. Again, questions from the audience are encouraged.
