Strategic decision-making in business must now take into account a wide range of criteria relating to the financial, environmental, and social implications of business operations. Research is mounting proving that a visible commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) has clear implications for the corporate bottom line, particularly in the area of branding and talent management. Employees across business functions continue to struggle with the fundamental challenge of embedding CSR into their day-to-day business operations and management.
This one-day workshop will introduce Haas Alumni to the emergent and complex field of corporate social responsibility as a business strategy – a corporate strategy that is integrated with core business objectives and core competencies to create positive social change and business value. The session will explore the different ways in which all companies and functions can incorporate societal and environmental perspectives into strategic thinking, as well as the challenges and dilemmas involved in this process.
