What is 5-Minute Dating?
After you sign up on our website, we use our incredibly sophisticated, Steve Levin-developed personality-attraction algorithm - combined with data we obtained through President Bush's domestic spying activites - to match you up with participating students from other Yale graduate and professional schools.
On Thursday, Apr. 10th, you come to BAR around 6:30 pm for registration and receive a list of approximately ten of your most compatible matches from across the university. Then, around 7 pm, the fun begins!
Over the course of the evening, you'll meet each of your selected hotties for 5-minute 'dates'-- all while enjoying delicious appetizers and your first two drinks on us! At the end of the night, you mark on your list who you'd like to see again. If they've marked you down, too, we'll send you their email address. Also, if you're mingling between speed dates, and you meet someone who piques your curiosity, you can add them to your match card, too!
Feeling picky? If none of your dates suits your fancy, you walk away, commitment free!
Can I participate if I'm LGBTIQ?
Of course!!! Our form allows you to specify the gender of the people you'd like to be matched with, and - subject to numbers - we will do our best to provide you with a full slate of dates with people of the same orientation.
What Do I Get for My Donation?
- Approximately ten 5-minute dates with Yale grad/prof school students of the gender of your choice.
- 2 domestic draft beers or well drinks.
- Assorted appetizers
When and Where Is This Happening?
Sign up online through midnight on Monday, Apr. 9th. Then come to BAR (254 Crown St.) on Thursday, Apr. 10th around 6:30 to get your list of dates and enjoy the free drinks and food. Dating starts promptly at 7, so don't be late.
Why Should I Sign Up?

- It's for a great cause. Your contribution will go to support public interest legal work by Yale Law students this summer. Plus, the Yale Law School administration will match every dollar that you contribute.
What Is This YIPPIE! Thing, Anyway?
YIPPIE! is the Yale Incentive Program for Public Interest Employment, an entirely student-run initiative at the Yale Law School that raises funds to sponsor Yale law students who will be doing public interest work this summer.
