The federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs provide over $2 billion dollars a year to small companies developing leading-edge technologies that are of interest to federal agencies. Specifically, these programs fund up to $850,000 in seed capital for companies developing innovative technologies with commercial potential.

Robert Berger is a SBIR expert and former SBIR/STTR program manager for the Department of Energy.  Learn a simplified proposal writing framework that works for all agencies.  It is based on the points-of-view of people actually responsible for reviewing SBIR/STTR proposals.  For SBIR/STTR details, go to www.sba.gov/SBIR.
