The New York City Buildings Department, American Institute of Architects New York Chapter, Downtown Alliance NYC, New York Building Congress, and Illuminating Engineering Society New York Chapter are pleased to announce an international, open design competition for a new temporary sidewalk shed prototype for the City of New York.
urbanSHED is a two-stage, open competition. The sponsors wish to encourage engineers and designers from all fields and students to enter. Individuals may enter but multi-disciplinary teams and an integrated approach are encouraged.
Registration is $90.00 USD and $45.00 USD for students. Students must include a copy of their current student identification with their final submission. All payments are final and nonrefundable. Registrants who do not submit a proposal or who are disqualified will not receive a refund.
The registration deadline is 5:00pm EST 18 September 2009. Registrants will receive their registration confirmation with unique identification number after completing payment. Please note this registration page (or confirmation email) must be printed out and two copies must be included in the submission. One is attached to the board and one is attached to the CD.
