A FREE training on innovative strategies for providing homeless services and creating environments that are person-centered, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed presented by the Homelessness Resource Center and the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness. What Can Participants Expect? To develop an understanding of a person-centered, recovery-oriented, trauma-informed model of care. To learn practical skills in the following areas: - Creating trauma-informed care for families and individuals who are homeless
- Ensuring consumer voice in the design and delivery of homeless services
- Identifying strategies to increase access to affordable housing
- Integrating motivational interviewing into the service delivery system
To explore strategies of self-care and to experience a sense of renewal and rejuvenation. Training on PATH data collection and reporting will be conducted for PATH providers. Who Should Come? This training is applicable to anyone providing homeless services including direct service providers, consumers, administrators and policy makers. We particularly invite participation from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH), and Services in Supportive Housing (SSH) grantees.
