We are inviting you to join the Hawaii Institute for Public Affairs (HIPA) in a gala celebration of Hawaii's community leaders. The Seventh Annual HIPA Public Affairs Leadership Awards Dinner. This gala event will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom. We will be recognizing community leaders who have made significant contributions in the public affairs and public policy arena in Hawaii. The 2010 honorees include:
Dr. Virginia Pressler Harry Kim Russell Okata Henry Clark Eric Chock & Darrell Lum, Bamboo Ridge Press Nadao Yoshinaga (In memoriam) HIPA is Hawaii's first independent non-partisan and non-governmental public policy institute created to elevate the level of public decision-making by conducting research and analysis on public issues facing Hawaii, and serving as a neutral convener of key stakeholders to seek collaborative community-based solutions. Founded in 2000, HIPA has pioneered research and collaborative efforts to address key policy issues facing our state, including economic development, sustainability, workforce development, health insurance coverage, and access to healthcare.
