Demonstration and Tasting, $45 The East Village is undoubtedly one of NYC’s top culinary destinations, and we’re providing delicious proof with this benefit class, spotlighting 3 beloved local restaurants: Veselka, Mama’s Food Shop, and Hecho en Dumbo. Stop by the Culinary Center tonight as we taste and learn about Ukrainian home-cooking, classic American comfort food, and contemporary Mexican antojitos while celebrating the fun and vibrant neighborhood we love to call home. All proceeds from this class goes to Fourth Arts Block, a nonprofit organization that supports various arts and community groups throughout the East 4th Street Cultural District. On the Menu: Homemade Pirogis; Potato Latkes (Veselka). Tostada Gaonera with Seafood Ceviche and Spicy Lime-Clamato Juice; Tacos de Moronga with Mexican Blood Sausage on a Handmade Corn Tortilla Topped with Fresh Salsa (Hecho en Dumbo). Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf; Fennel, Celery, and Apple Salad with Lemon, Cilantro, and House-Made Chili Flakes (Mama’s Food Shop).
