Winter is actually the time of greatest abundance for many birds at Point Reyes. Coastal estuaries such as Limantour Estero are rich feeding areas for thousands of ducks, shorebirds, grebes and other waterbirds. Over ten species of hawks, falcons and other raptors, as well as warblers, thrushes, kinglets, flycatchers and other landbirds can be found here in huge numbers. This class will cover the basics of field identification in a fun, relaxed atmosphere while offering insights into the use of binoculars, scopes and field guides. Come discover why birding is one of the most popular pastimes in the country, and why Point Reyes is one of the best locations to enjoy it. Also open to youth (age 15-17) with parent attendance.

Point Reyes National Seashore Association Purchase/refund policy: Membership Refund Policy: Notification must be received within one week from transaction date (minus a $10 processing fee for each membership). Field Seminar Refund Policy: Notification must be received at least 14 days before the first day of the class if you cancel and wish to receive a refund (minus a $10 processing fee for each person registered) or a full credit toward another seminar (good for one year). No refunds, transfers or credits will be issued on cancellations made less than 14 days in advance. We regret that NO EXCEPTIONS to this cancellation policy can be made, even for medical reasons. In the rare event that Point Reyes Field Seminars cancels a program, we will issue a full refund or credit.
