With Bernie Krause Spend the late afternoon with an exciting presentation by Bernie Krause learning about The Great Animal Orchestra. This is the story of how animals taught us to dance and sing. From the collective animal voices that came from habitats we once lived in, we picked out and imitated the rhythms, melodies and most important the elaborate arrangements of sound as we heard them. Because humans are such great mimics, we incorporated these natural gifts into our musical expression, which in turn evolved into language. It was the collective sound coming from entire habitats that first inspired us into song. The soundscape narrative expresses itself over a broad spectrum of disciplines like biology, resource management, medicine, religion, natural history, politics, literature, physics and many, many more. There will be ample time for Q&A, books to purchase and signings
