Energy & Environmental Design (LEED)
Event Date: September 19, 2012
RSVP by: September 12, 2012
Buildings that have received a LEED certification are appearing across the globe. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) in 2000, LEED is the most widely recognized green building program. The strategy of LEED is to achieve high performance in the five areas of human and environmental health through innovation and process design.
• Sustainable Site Development
• Water Savings
• Energy Efficiency
• Materials Selection, and,
• Indoor Environmental Quality
Colleen Soden of Soden Sustainability has championed an array of LEED projects and programs which have yielded cost avoidance and savings for individuals and organizations. She will take us through an outline of LEED and its rating system. With her, we will journey through the process design and certification process in both work and home environments. As part of that journey, she will share highlights from her experience while implementing LEED sustainability projects and programs.
