Enjoy an entire weekend painting outdoors on cliffs above, and below on beaches leading out to the open sea. For countless generations people have been inspired by the vastness and sheer beauty of the ocean. Come and be motivated by the historic Lifeboat Station and its historic photographs of boats, men and marine habitats gracing the walls. We will study marine paintings by two great American painters: Winslow Homer (watercolors) and Armin Hanson (oils). Bring the medium of your choice. Joan will demonstrate and give insightful assessments: how to improve your painting or how to find a direction in you painting style. Come away with fresh new paintings and a deep understanding of maritime painting tradition and techniques. All levels welcome. Accommodations at the Historic Lifeboat Station included.
