The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) (www.ustda.gov) is supporting an Orientation Visit (OV) to the United States for 12 Palestinian Marble and Stone company representatives and one U.S. Consulate representative. The delegates involved in the OV have been proposed by the Palestinian Marble and Stone Union (www.usm-pal.org) in conjunction with the Economic Section and the U.S. Commercial Service from the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem..
The OV will take place October 5-18, 2008 in Washington, D.C.; Bloomington, IN; and Las Vegas, NV and will focus on introducing the delegation to modern stone extracting, cutting, finishing technologies and methods of transportation available in the United States. The cornerstone of the OV will be the “StonExpo” to be held in Las Vegas, NV on October 15-18, 2008. “StonExpo” is the annual trade show organized by the Marble Institute of America (www.marble-institute.com) which is a non-profit association for natural stone in the United States. Through the trade show as well as site visits to U.S. equipment manufacturers and stone quarrying facilities, the Palestinian delegates would be exposed to U.S. technology and standards.
The Business Briefing will take place at 9:00 am at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Convention Center in the Tradewinds Room on Tuesday, October 14, 2008.
